The blonde, blue-eyed doll (played by Emily Browning) resembles a little bird that is constantly startled. One day, she is sent to a private club controlled by Blue (played by Oscar Isaac), who gathers young girls and has Ms. Gorski (played by Carla Gugino) teach them to dance in order to please wealthy tycoons and influential politicians. The doll befriends four other girls: Sweet Pea (played by Abbie Cornish), Rocket (played by Jena Malone), Blondie (played by Vanessa Hudgens), and Amber (played by Jamie Chung). The doll is unwilling to become a plaything, and she discusses escape plans with her friends. The escape requires four tools: a map, a lighter, a knife, and a key. The friends are responsible for stealing these tools, while the doll captivates the attention of Blue and others with her enchanting and magical dance.
