The drama is adapted from a webtoon of the same name, telling a romantic comedy about the formal defensive love between the Confucian-influenced male disciple Shin Yun-bok (played by Kim Myung-soo), who comes from the village of Seongshan, and the modern female teacher Jin Hong-do (played by Lee Yu-young), who only knows how to take initiative. Kim Myung-soo plays Shin Yun-bok, who comes from a family with a long-standing high status in Korea, meaning he has heavy responsibilities. He is extremely strict with himself and is a noble scholar who doesn't treat anyone lightly. Lee Yu-young portrays Jin Hong-do, who is striving in the fiercely competitive design industry. Often overlooked due to having nothing and lacking a background, she remains persistent in her dream of becoming a designer.
