After their divorce, Tao Sheng (played by Andy Lau) and Tao Tai (played by Sammi Cheng) are caught in a new love triangle. Tao Tai is pursued passionately by wealthy Steve (played by Ng Ka Lung), who presents her with jewelry as a proposal gift, knowing her love for gems. However, Steve's mother, Mrs. Allen (played by Hu Yan Ni), imposes strict conditions before allowing Tao Tai to marry. Just when the valuable jewelry seems to be secured, her ex-husband Tao Sheng intervenes - using the same method to steal the precious jewels. This leaves Tao Tai in despair. Mrs. Allen suspects that Tao Tai has stolen the expensive items and hires a private investigator to look into her, ultimately uncovering the truth about Tao Tai's past. During their time together again, Tao Sheng and Tao Tai reminisce about their past and, amid their bickering, realize they still love each other. In reality, all these events are part of Tao Sheng's elaborate scheme... The film received nominations for Best Supporting Actress for Hu Yan Ni and Best Original Film Song for Sammi Cheng at the 24th Hong Kong Film Awards.
