Zhao Bingdou (played by Zhao Rencheng) is a low-level leader of a third-rate gang. He has two younger siblings at home, and his mother is in poor health, leading to a difficult life. His status in the gang is not promising either, as the boss does not value him and assigns him minor tasks like fighting on the streets and intimidating debtors. The arcade that he was supposed to take over was also snatched away by someone else. Bingdou's classmate and friend Jin Minhao (played by Namgoong Min) is an unsuccessful small director who seeks Bingdou's experience for shooting a gangster film. With Jin Minhao's help, Bingdou reunites with his first love, Jiang Hyanju (played by Lee Bo-young), but his gangster identity makes Hyanju uneasy.
