Once, the great magician Maskare (played by Hrithik Roshan) shocked the world repeatedly with his superb skills and wonderful performances. Unfortunately, a mistake during one show forced him to face the tragic fate of lifelong paralysis. Under the careful care of nurse Sophia (played by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan), Maskare's "paralyzed life" was not too bad; meanwhile, he still struggled to contribute to the magic industry with his wisdom and words, even while lying in bed. As time passed, Maskare realized that his thoughts were becoming muddled, and his physical skills were deteriorating due to long periods of inactivity, which meant that it wouldn’t be long before he would truly become a "vegetable." Realizing his dire situation, Maskare made a shocking request to Sophia, asking her to help him end his life.
