Netflix has directly ordered a new 10-episode comedy series titled "The Good Cop," developed by Andy Breckman along with Randy Zisk, with Breckman serving as the writer. "The Good Cop" tells the story of Tony Sr. Caruso (played by Tony Danza), a disgraced former New York police officer who has never followed the rules. He now lives with his son, Tony Jr. (played by singer-songwriter Josh Groban), who is the complete opposite of his father: enthusiastic, honest, and someone who often adheres to the rules. The father-son duo forms an informal and odd partnership, with the dad using his improvisational wisdom to help his overly cautious and rule-abiding son, including how to handle suspects... and deal with women. Monica Barbaro plays Cara Vasquez, a witty, confident new detective in the city's homicide task force, whose motto is that as long as she can solve the problem, it doesn't matter if she breaks the rules, which often annoys her partner.
