Six thousand years later, the once prosperous lineage of swordsmen has fallen into decline, only upheld by the sword immortal Chao Qingqiu, in order to confront the twelve saints of the three teachings. Li Fuyao, burdened with a great vengeance, makes a living as a storyteller in a small country and town. He travels to Sword Mountain, to Demon Land, to Buddhist Land. After taking his revenge, he finally understands that the entire human world is entwined in a massive deception. Why did the lineage of swordsmen begin to decline six thousand years ago? Why have the saints and sword immortals from six thousand years ago, as well as throughout these six thousand years, been unable to attain immortality? Why did Chao Qingqiu fake his death to remain in the mortal realm? What is the true nature of that lantern in the Buddhist Land? Is the dragon in Demon Land an outsider? What lies beyond the heavens? All these questions will be gradually revealed as Li Fuyao continues to grow.
