 Synopsis
Nine years ago, Jesse (played by Ethan Hawke) and Celine (played by Julie Delpy) unexpectedly met on a train and fell in love. After spending a crazy and romantic night in Vienna, they parted ways before sunrise, agreeing to reunite in Vienna. Nine years later, Jesse has become a bestselling author, while Celine is a member of a French environmental organization. Jesse recounts the romantic night from nine years ago in his new book. While promoting the book in Paris, Jesse and Celine meet again in a bookstore, but they only have an afternoon together; Jesse has to catch a flight back to America before sunset. The two stroll through the streets of Paris, row on a beautiful moat, and talk about everything with excitement. However, like a trick of fate, the happy times are intoxicating yet fleeting, like fireworks. Jesse repeatedly says goodbye to Celine, unable to forget her; Celine remembers the love deep in her heart through her guitar and songs. The sun is about to set, and Jesse risks missing his flight, perhaps because what he truly doesn’t want to miss is the predestined connection.
