Oscar-winning director Asif Kapadia will direct "2073," a documentary thriller set against a dystopian future. Neon, Double Agent, and Film4 will co-finance and produce the project. "2073" will address the challenges the world faces, inspired by Chris Marker’s iconic 1962 feature "La Jetée," which tells the story of a time traveler risking his life to change the course of history and save humanity's future. "I want to create an epic about the state of the world, using elements of science fiction to examine the enormous problems we face as a species and hope to find solutions before it’s too late," Kapadia said in a statement.
