Intro： Ace ProducerIn the small town of Paterson, New Jersey, where jazz master 'Fats Waller' grew up, elderly Fletcher (played by Danny Glover) clings to his memories of the master while running a video rental store in the midst of commercialization. Young black man Mike (played by Mos Def) and the town's neurotic unemployed man Jerry (played by Jack Black) loiter around the video store all day. Recently, Jerry feels that microwave radiation from the power plant is controlling the town's residents, so he asks Mike to help him blow up the power plant. However, Mike, tasked by traveling Fletcher to take care of the store, hesitates at the last moment, leading to Jerry's failure. Unexpectedly, Jerry then becomes 'Magnet Man', causing all the videos to lose their images due to his magnetism! Long-time customer Miss Falowicz (played by Mia Farrow) calls Fletcher daily, and in order to keep Fletcher from discovering the changes in the store, Mike and Jerry pretend that everything is normal. They have to start filming their own movie to keep it a secret from Fletcher and the town's film buffs...
