 Synopsis
The retired actor Maurice (played by Peter O'Toole) and Ian (played by Leslie Phillips), both elderly friends living in London, lead a dull life at home, occasionally visiting the café run by Donald (played by Richard Griffiths) for a drink and reminiscing about the good times of the past. Their quiet life is disrupted by the arrival of a girl. Ian's great-niece, Jessie (played by Jodie Whittaker), comes from northern England to London in search of a job and stays in Ian's apartment. Jessie struggles to adapt to life in London, and Ian finds her to be a headache. In a crucial moment, Maurice steps in to help his old friend; he takes Jessie on a tour of London, assists her in her job search, and becomes deeply infatuated with this sensitive and shy girl... The film won the Best Supporting Actor award at the 2006 British Independent Film Awards (Leslie Phillips).
