The story takes place in the San Fernando Valley in 1969 and tells the story of the Chambers family pursuing a lofty and seemingly unattainable dream. Hampton Chambers (played by O'Hare) finds that the long-awaited family reunion does not go according to his plan after his release from prison. During Hampton's time in prison, his wife Astoria (played by Misiak) and their sons Einstein (played by Ellison) and Harrison (played by DiAlto-Winston) formed an unconventional family unit, and Hampton's return throws their world into chaos.
