This drama is adapted from Tetsuya Yuda's bestselling police novel series "Reiko Himekawa Series". Based on the 2012 TV series "Strawberry Night" starring Yuko Takeuchi, it features an entirely new cast and production team, along with brand new stories that have yet to be adapted into a TV drama. The show's protagonist is Reiko Himekawa, head of the Homicide Section 10 of the Metropolitan Police Department, portrayed by Fumika Baba. As the only female squad leader in the investigation division, she possesses keen intuition, strong analytical skills, and quick action capabilities, leading the "Himekawa squad" to solve many difficult cases. Another main character is Kazuma Kikuta (played by Kazuya Kamenashi), Himekawa's senior subordinate and patrol department chief. He appears to be serious and reserved but actually dislikes being indirect and is full of a sense of justice, making him a passionate and masculine sports cop. Initially skeptical of Himekawa's intuitive and dangerous search methods when he was transferred to the Himekawa squad, he gradually recognizes her excellence as a detective and her personal charm as they continue solving cases, and he begins to develop special feelings for her. Himekawa's nemesis, known as "Iron Man", is Kenzaku Katsumata (played by Yosuke Eguchi), head of the Homicide Section 5. He is a skilled detective with an outstanding solve rate due to his eight years of experience in public security, which has honed his ability to gather intelligence both within and outside the police organization. However, his unconventional investigation methods often attract various criticisms. In "Strawberry Night: Heroic Legend", in addition to the titular first installment of the Himekawa Reiko series, there are stories like "Soul Detective" that uncovers the truth behind a murder case without a body, the homicide case related to fighting with gangsters called "Invisible Rain", and the bizarre murder case involving the Blue Mask, which is adapted into a TV drama for the first time. The plot is tightly woven with a strong lineup, keeping viewers glued to their screens.
