Bette Davis (played by Susan Sarandon) and Joan Crawford (played by Jessica Lange) are both actresses who once illuminated film history with their brilliant starlight. The conflicts in their careers and relationships caused deep contradictions between them, and this complicated entanglement of grievances and grudges has long been no secret in Hollywood. However, Hollywood is forgetful, and as the years go by, Joan finds herself unknowingly becoming a faded actress. Unwilling to vanish into obscurity, she decides to make a bold move. Joan chooses a thriller novel titled 'What Happened to Baby Jane?' and enthusiastically invites director Robert (played by Alfred Molina) to direct it. She then personally visits Bette, who is also facing various struggles in her career, and is moved by Joan's olive branch.
