Beth (played by Amy Schumer) seems to live a life that many envy: her upbringing leaves a strong impression on those around her, she becomes a very wealthy liquor distributor, establishes a solid relationship with a successful and likable man, and even resides in Manhattan. However, a sudden event forces Beth to reconsider her past, changing her life forever. The series uses a non-linear storytelling method, recapping the girl’s past - who she is and what she truly wants through her younger self's narrative. This deep journey of recollection is also the beginning of genuinely facing oneself; it is filled with trauma, comedy, and trying to move forward.
