In the future world, the foolish human civilization leads to the increasingly deteriorating environment of Earth, turning the once warm and sweet hometown into a hell of disasters and death. Subsequently, humanity travels through space to establish a new home on a new star, but they face a brutal slaughter by monstrous creatures controlled by aliens, known as 'Yuan Gui.' The highest commander of the rangers, Sefer Ridge (played by Will Smith), effectively leads his team to stop the enemy's massacre. Although a tiger father doesn't give birth to a dog son, Sefer's son, Kitai (played by Jaden Smith), fails in the ranger assessment. With emotional distance between them, Ridge sets off to the training base on Ifitus, but along the way, an unexpected event forces them to land on a familiar yet strange Earth. A violent impact nearly kills all the crew, leaving only the Ridge father and son as survivors. With his father severely injured, Kitai must go alone to search for the signal machine essential for their survival.
