Kevin Flynn (played by Jeff Bridges) is a genius programmer, but a game software he once developed was stolen by a former colleague. To prove that it was his work, Kevin attempts to access the main control program (MCP) of his former colleague's company, only to find that it has become powerful enough to control other programs at will. Kevin seeks help from his colleague Alan (played by Bruce Boxleitner), who designed a program called Tron to contain the MCP. However, the MCP realizes Kevin's actions and sucks him into the program space, turning him into a controlled subroutine. Within the MCP space, Kevin must stay alive and find a way to return to reality... 'Tron' is the first cyberpunk film in history.
