Doctor Strange (played by Benedict Cumberbatch) is a surgeon with a high IQ and extraordinary skills, making him a legendary figure in the hospital and the entire medical community. One day, Doctor Strange experiences a horrible car accident. Although he saves his hands, they are left severely injured and trembling, which means he can no longer hold a scalpel or stand under the operating lights. Doctor Strange's life thus loses its meaning and he falls into despair, deciding to travel to Nepal in search of the legendary mystical power that could heal his hands. In Nepal, the weary Doctor Strange becomes a disciple of the mysterious Ancient One (played by Tilda Swinton), while the Ancient One's former disciple, Kaecilius (played by Mads Mikkelsen), lurks nearby, attempting to further his goal of attaining immortality.
