The Wandering Earth

In the near future, scientists discover that the sun is rapidly aging and expanding, and in a short time, the entire solar system, including Earth, will be swallowed by the sun. To save themselves, humanity proposes a bold plan called "The Wandering Earth," which involves building tens of thousands of engines and steering engines on the surface of the Earth to push it out of the solar system, embarking on a 2500-year journey to another habitable place. Chinese astronaut Liu Peiqiang (played by Wu Jing) goes to the International Space Station before his son Liu Qi turns four, taking on the role of a navigator alongside international peers. In the blink of an eye, Liu Qi (played by Qu Chu Xiao) grows up, and he sneaks out to the surface with his sister Duo Duo (played by Zhao Jin Mai) to secretly drive their grandfather Han Ziang's (played by Wu Meng Da) transport vehicle. As a result, they not only get arrested but also encounter a global engine shutdown event. To fix the engines and prevent Earth from falling into Jupiter, a worldwide rescue effort begins, and even Liu Qi's vehicle is forcibly requisitioned to join the cause. In a race against time, countless people fall one after another, risking everything just to continue the hope of survival for countless future generations... This film is adapted from Liu Cixin's novel of the same name.
