In 2262, Captain Elizabeth Lockley of the Earth Force was appointed as the commander of Babylon 5 space station. The station gradually developed into a refuge for telepaths fleeing from the Psi Corps, leading to conflict. Former Narn ambassador to Babylon 5, G'Kar, became an unwilling spiritual icon after the publication of his book written during his imprisonment during the Narn-Centauri War. The Drakh, former allies of the Shadows, remained in the galaxy and used a parasitic organism called the 'Keeper' to control the regent Virini on the Centauri homeworld, provoking a war between the Centauri and the Interstellar Alliance with the aim of isolating the Centauri from the Alliance, thus carving out a manipulable home for themselves.
