In 1944, the Changheng Campaign ended in failure for the Nationalist army. The brave officer Fei Zhenxi, who fought valiantly against the enemy, was captured by the Japanese army after being injured and falling into a coma. In the prisoner of war camp, all prisoners not only suffered inhumane physical torment but also faced devastating psychological destruction. Fei Zhenxi repeatedly engaged in a battle of wits and courage against the Japanese soldiers, and though he was often brutally beaten, he remained unyielding for the sake of his country and beliefs. After enduring a series of inhumane tortures, Fei unexpectedly met other patriotic Communist soldiers, such as Liu Feng and Feng Laoda, who inspired him with their spirit led by Liu Feng to decide to join the Communist Party. Ultimately, they successfully thwarted the Japanese army's plot and led a group of prisoners to escape from the POW camp.
