In the battle of the Bagua formation, the allied forces of Sun and Liu significantly weakened the morale of Cao's troops. Cao Cao (played by Zhang Fengyi) was deeply worried about this, and coupled with the heavy casualties among his northern troops due to the unfamiliar terrain, it exacerbated his migraine, for which he was fortunately cared for by his maid, Li Ji (played by Xiao Song Jia). Sun Shangxiang (played by Zhao Wei) disguised herself to infiltrate Cao's camp, gaining the favor of the sergeant major (played by Tong Dawei) to steal military secrets. Cao Cao disposed of the bodies of his soldiers who died from the plague into the river, calling them 'Ghost Soldiers,' intending to disturb the morale of the Sun-Liu alliance. Seeing this, Xiao Qiao (played by Lin Chiling) decided to secretly visit Cao's camp to persuade him to withdraw his troops.
