General Kirk, welcome back to the Enterprise! A massive cloud of high-energy ions is swiftly drifting through the distant and mysterious universe. This energy cloud possesses an unstoppable power, capable of destroying any material structure in the cosmos. Several starships from the three major powers of the galaxy have already met their demise in its path... The stronghold of the Earth-Galaxy Federation, the headquarters of the Starfleet. At the Starfleet headquarters located in San Francisco, North America, General Kirk was, as usual, bored and doing nothing, but suddenly received a highly favorable order to inspect the Enterprise's readiness for an urgent mission. The Earth's defense system has detected the high-energy ion cloud and determined that it is on a collision course with Earth. General Kirk's mission is to intercept it with the Enterprise before it reaches Earth to investigate.
