On a pitch-black night, Smith (Clive Owen) inadvertently gets caught up in a gang chase. Amidst the intense gunfire, he saves a baby in a swaddle. The baby's crying brings an unspoken embarrassment to this tough guy skilled in combat. Besides buying baby supplies at the supermarket, he also has to deal with the baby's feeding problems. At this moment, he thinks of his friend DQ (Monica Bellucci), who works at a brothel, and forcefully drives away the clients to entrust the baby to her. DQ has deep feelings for Smith but has never had the chance to confess. As the gangsters swarm in, the two finally open up to each other, fighting side by side to take care of the baby. Through Smith's investigation, they discover that the gang trying to harm the baby is actually linked to arms dealers, and they have hired numerous surrogate mothers.
