In the dark night, the god Zeus summons the sea god Poseidon, accusing his son of stealing the lightning bolt and threatening him that if he does not retrieve it quickly, war will ensue. In reality, Poseidon has a son named Percy Jackson (played by Logan Lerman), who is a college student. At 17, he can stay underwater for 7 minutes, but he shows no interest in his teacher's questions about Shakespeare. While visiting a museum, he encounters a centaur teacher (played by Pierce Brosnan) in a wheelchair. However, the literature teacher transforms into a vengeful goddess, pressing him for the whereabouts of the lightning bolt. Luckily, the centaur professor and his satyr friend arrive just in time to save him from danger. They take Percy to a camp to train him, and they bring in a warrior girl, Annabeth (played by Alexandra Daddario), to spar with him. After being defeated, Percy is activated when he touches water and becomes an indomitable warrior, embarking on a heroic quest to retrieve the lightning bolt. Facing attacks from mythological creatures like Medusa and challenges from the king and queen of the underworld, Hades and Persephone, his path to self-redemption is reduced to just 10 days...
