Two criminals join the German police force to get out of prison and seize an opportunity for redemption after the war. The older of the two, Mader Bosco, dies at the onset of their adventure. The 25-year-old George receives significant help from Louise, whose dream is to see him reform. She introduces George to Counter-Intelligence Officer Commander Roe, who decides to use George's skills in exchange for his reformation. During the pursuit of traitors, the relationship between Roe and George changes. Mutual suspicion and disdain gradually give way to a budding friendship.
