 Synopsis
The film "Hero Huang Huo" depicts the establishment of an anti-Japanese base by Huang Huo in the Hebei-Shandong border area from 1941 to 1943, where he led the military and civilians in courageous resistance against Japan and ultimately sacrificed his life for the country. Famous actor Gao Shugong plays the hero Huang Huo, while young actress Xiao Yin plays Huang Huo's wife, Gu Lanqing. Huang Huo, originally named Huang Jinshan, joined the revolution at the age of 15 and gradually became a key figure in the Red Army Special Operations line alongside contemporaries like Chen Geng, Song Renqiong, and Wei Guoqing. In April 1941, he served as the commander of the 6th Brigade of the 115th Division, and in the summer of that year, he was transferred to the Hebei-Shandong Border Military Region as commander. On June 30, 1943, traitor Feng Guankui cruelly murdered Comrade Huang Huo during a reconnaissance meeting in Dazhuang Village, Xinqing County, under the pretense of reporting on work. In response, Comrade Nie Rongzhen personally inscribed the monument with the words "Martyr Huang Huo will forever be remembered." In September 2009, during the national "Double Hundred" selection of prominent figures, Martyr Huang Huo was selected as one of the 50 model heroes from Hubei Province who made outstanding contributions to the establishment of the new China. To commemorate Martyr Huang Huo, the border area government decided in August 1945 to officially rename Xinqing County to Huang Huo County. In 1989, the State Council approved the elevation of the county to city status, establishing Huang Huo City.
