The title of the film "stop-loss" was originally a common term in the financial and foreign exchange field. It roughly refers to an act of trying to limit losses to a smaller range when investing errors.After the Vietnam War, the term was used by the US government. "stop-loss procedure" refers to the act of the military forcing soldiers who have completed their duties during their service or who have conditionally retired to extend their service time in an emergency situation.According to an estimate, the controversial policy forced about 7,000 U.S. soldiers who were originally scheduled to return home were forced to stay in Iraq.
Sergeant Brandon King, played by Ryan Philip, returns to his hometown with honor and intends to rebuild his life, but the military forced him to return to Iraq immediately under the stop loss procedure.
