The film tells a bizarre story of a "husband-killing" case. On the day of the wedding, everyone is engulfed in celebration; however, the bride begins to kill four people in the bridal chamber, then screams "It wasn't me" as she runs out of the room, ultimately taking her own life. The guests witness the entire process but unanimously point to a seemingly weak young girl as the prime suspect. Even the girl herself voluntarily admits to the crime and prepares to face legal consequences, claiming to be a person known as "the star of calamity," who is destined to harm those close to her. Yet, behind all this lies a deeper secret. Innocent bystanders lose their lives, key figures die in prison, and the mysterious village is filled with corpses, as if the entire incident is shrouded in eerie shadows. Everyone connected to the case seems unable to escape the fate of death. As the investigation deepens, Di Renjie (played by Du Yiheng) realizes the complexity of the case and begins to suspect that a greater conspiracy lurks behind it all. Will he believe in the notion of "disaster stars"? Can he find the answers in this maze and reveal the truth behind it? As the investigation progresses, more and more clues emerge, and the veil of truth is set to be lifted, revealing a bloody and bewildering story.
