The last dwarf kingdom of Middle-earth, Erebor, stands tall and magnificent, solemn and grand. The old king Thorin accumulated a vast fortune, which attracted the covetous and destructive dragon Smaug, ultimately leading to the fall of the city. Many years later, the grey wizard Gandalf (played by Ian McKellen) finds Frodo's uncle - the hobbit Bilbo Baggins (played by Martin Freeman), inviting him to join a company of thirteen dwarves on an expedition. It turns out that Smaug has been silent for many years, and the dwarven prince Thorin (played by Richard Armitage), burdened by long-standing national grievances, hopes to take this opportunity to reclaim his homeland. After some consideration, Baggins decides to join. What he does not expect is that the expedition will face numerous hardships, including the lingering vengeance of the pale orc and his minions with whom Thorin has a deep enmity, as well as countless dangers posed by goblins and stone trolls. Along the journey, Baggins unexpectedly acquires a significant treasure that will impact all of Middle-earth... This film is adapted from J.R.R. Tolkien's original work of the same name.
