Wesley (Andy Lau) is a special member of the United Nations Alien Lifeform Analysis Bureau, responsible for handling all extraterrestrial-related incidents on Earth. During a visit to an antique shop to see a strange blue 'human bone', Wesley encounters Fang Tianya (Guan Zhiling), an alien whose appearance is indistinguishable from that of an ordinary beauty but has blue blood, with whom he had a fleeting encounter in his youth. When he tries to keep her from leaving, she disappears. An alien lifeform attack occurs near the antique shop, prompting the FBI's alien investigation agency to send elite team members Bai Su (Shu Qi) and Bai Qiwei (Zhang Yaoyang) to the scene for investigation. The group engages in combat with highly powerful alien lifeforms. Hearing about the situation, Wesley joins the fight but is ultimately overpowered and seriously injured. Fang Tianya appears just in time, using her strange powers to rescue Wesley, and thus begins their bizarre romantic journey.
