The beautiful painter Gu Xiaoyue (played by Liu Xiaoye) adopts a Golden Retriever named Halin that was abandoned by its previous owner. With the meticulous treatment from Dr. Li (played by Ji Shuai) at the pet hospital and Gu Xiaoyue's careful care, Halin quickly regains health and learns to cook, mop the floor, fetch slippers, and other household chores. Halin also bravely retrieves a stolen wallet from a thief for a neighbor, making it famous overnight. In an unexpected turn, Halin swallows a diamond belonging to the thief leader Kid (played by Zhang Shan), who then seeks to find Halin to kill it. How will Gu Xiaoyue and Dr. Li rescue Halin?
