As the bright sun sets, the curtain on New Year's Eve slowly spreads out. In this night that should have been full of hope and warmth, there are still a group of people who are in trouble.Morgan (Hilary Swank), the host of the Times Square show, is nervously performing the final rehearsal; Doy (Sarah Jessica Parker) is having a quarrel with his daughter Hayley (Abigail Breslin), who insists on spending New Year's Eve with her boyfriend; cartoonist Randy (Ashton Kutcher) is still immersed in the annoyance of being dumped by her ex-girlfriend, New Year's Eve will only make him more irritable; and poor Harris (Robert De Niro) has reached the late stage of cancer, and only hopes to see the last New Year's ball drop ceremony in Times Square... They are like many New Yorkers who are troubled by life, busy in their small position, but they don't have time to open their eyes to see the New Year's blessing has quietly arrived...
