This historical drama depicts the Battle of Saragarhi in 1897. The focus of the film is on Havildar Ishar Singh, who was stationed at one of the three forts in the Siachen Mountains on the India-Afghanistan border in what is now Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. After defying orders from his superiors to rescue an Afghan girl from religious extremists, he was reassigned to the Saragarhi fort, which served as an information relay station. The Afghan extremists used this as an excuse to attempt to seize all three forts, starting with the Saragarhi fort. Havildar Ishar Singh led a platoon of 21 Sikh soldiers to fight against over 10,000 Afghan invaders, fiercely battling and delaying the advance of the Afghan forces, thus thwarting their plan to capture all three forts in one swift strike. However, all 21 brave soldiers perished heroically. This event is regarded as one of the greatest last stands in history.
