The film version of Crossing the Yalu River

The film is told from the perspective of Peng Dehuai, the commander and political commissar of the Chinese People's Volunteer Army, and comprehensively showcases the rapid evolution of the international situation from before the war to the signing of the armistice agreement at Panmunjom. It covers the entire process of the Anti-American War to Aid Korea involving the Chinese People's Volunteer Army against the 'United Nations Army' led by the United States. The film not only possesses a comprehensive spatial-temporal layout of two fronts and five major battles but also presents scenes of fierce combat characterized by different types of warfare such as surprise attacks, defensive battles, mobile warfare, trench warfare, and tunnel warfare. While narrating the shifts in the international structure, the film depicts the strategic thought and command competition among the leaders of China, the Soviet Union, and the United States.
