During the Korean War, the commander of the Volunteer Army assigned a difficult task to a certain company commander, Fang Yong (played by Zhang Yong), asking him to lead a reconnaissance team deep into enemy-occupied territory to blow up a vital route for enemy reinforcements—the Kangping Bridge. After accepting the mission, Fang Yong's team traveled day and night, cleverly circumventing the enemy's minefield blockade. While crossing the road, they disguised themselves as a U.S. military patrol. A section leader (played by Xing Jitian) pretended to be an American, shouting wildly at the temporary camp of the Liwei convoy on the road. The enemy captain (played by Xie Wanhé), unsure of the authenticity, had no choice but to lead his convoy away reluctantly. They quickly made contact with Amane (played by Qu Yun) and the guerrilla fighter Park Jinyu (played by Yuan Xia).
