In this film set in 1942 on the African front where the German army held the upper hand, the British army buried 100,000 landmines in a desperate attempt to survive. However, they were completely wiped out by a German attack, leaving only five British soldiers. While trying to regroup with the main forces, they encounter two German soldiers and, in order to survive, are forced to temporarily cease fire and move forward together. They are unaware of when they might be killed by the enemy. The scorching weather adds to the tension and excitement depicted in the film.
