Veronica Mars lives in Eptune, an ultra-affluent community town by the sea in California, home to millionaires and people who work for them. Of course, Veronica belongs to the second category, her dad Keith is the town's sheriff, Lao Mei's sheriff is a little different from the police, although they are all law enforcement officers, and the sheriff can be described as "private" in terms of establishment. Despite being in the second category, Veronica is doing well in school because her boyfriend, Duncan, is the son of a billionaire in town.
