 Synopsis
In the summer of 1930, Han Ying (played by Wang Yuzhen), the secretary of the Party branch in Pengjiatun Township, and Liu Chuang (played by Xia Kuibin), the leader of the brigade, took proactive measures to withdraw the Red Guards based on strategic needs—using Han Ying's words, it was to pull back their fists in order to strike the enemy more fiercely. The leader of the militia organization, Bai Jihui, Peng Batian (played by Chen Jinpeng), colluded with security team leader, Captain Feng (played by Cao Zengen), to take advantage of the situation and strike back. Han Ying organized a force to deal a heavy blow to the invading enemy based on intelligence provided by Zhang Deputy (played by Xie Tian), an undercover worker from the Chinese Communist Party embedded in the enemy security team. The enemy pretended to retreat, intending to launch a sneak attack. Han Ying saw through the ruse and, along with Liu Chuang, led the team to ambush. While protecting the villagers, she unfortunately fell into the enemy's hands. Peng Batian captured Han Ying's mother (played by Liu Shuqin), trying to soften Han Ying with the mother-daughter bond. Han Ying, with great righteousness, expressed her noble spirit that she would rather sacrifice her life than surrender. However, Liu Chuang, under the perilous circumstances of losing contact with the leadership, began to lose patience and frequently launched attacks. At this time, the enemy dispatched an undercover agent, Wang Jinbiao (played by Peng Hongjun), to attempt to ambush the Red Guards and also planned to execute Han Ying. After hearing the news, Deputy Zhang risked his life to rescue Han Ying but unfortunately perished himself. After Han Ying escaped and returned to her team, she immediately executed the traitor and coordinated with the main force of the Red Army to obliterate the Bai Jihui and the security team in one fell swoop. This ultimately led to the Honghu Red Guards making numerous achievements in safeguarding the revolutionary base of the red regime in Xiang and E during the Second Domestic Revolutionary War. The film won the Best Music Award at the first Hundred Flowers Awards of 'Popular Film' in 1962.
