Volunteers: The Heroic Troops Strike

To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the victory in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, the film presents a panoramic and multidimensional depiction of this war, which was fundamental to the founding of New China.In the early years after the establishment of New China in 1949, the country faced a situation of "internal troubles and external dangers." Since the outbreak of the Korean War, the U.S. military frequently provoked along the China-North Korea border, and civilians suffered bombings. In order to maintain the hard-won peace and ensure long-term stability for future generations, in October 1950, the Chinese People’s Volunteer Army entered Korea, marking the beginning of the "War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea." This was a "national war"—a political arena where Mao Zedong and Stalin negotiated, strategizing for national interests; a battlefield where, despite the disparity in military strength, our army achieved victory through heroic sacrifices; a diplomatic stage where the delegation of the People’s Republic of China made its first appearance at the United Nations, earning international respect for the new voice of China; and among the domestic public, people from all over the country wholeheartedly supported the front lines, enthusiastically donating money and goods... New China, resolute in demonstrating national strength; new youth, spirited in safeguarding the homeland.
