The film's Hebrew title "Kirot" means "walls," symbolizing the communication between the two female protagonists who start as strangers living separated by a wall, ultimately coming together. One is trying to break free from the control of the local gang to reunite with her young daughter in Russia, while the other is resisting her severely abusive husband. The two women fight for their ideals and survival, reminiscent of a new version of "Thelma & Louise." The film is a co-production between Israel, France, and the United States, with most dialogues in English, along with Hebrew and Russian. It is directed by Israeli director Danny Lerner, who graduated from the film department at Tel Aviv University. He made his debut with "Nightmare" in 2005, and his works are full of complex social elements and deep psychological portrayals, establishing him as a leading figure among the new generation of Israeli directors, with "Kirot" being his second film.
