The movie tells the story of Alexander (played by Colin Farrell) in his youth, his dreams, glories, and adventurous life, his lonely existence after conquering the world, and his mysterious death. His unusual relationship with General Hephaistion (played by Jared Leto) is also prominently portrayed. Alexander's mother (played by Angelina Jolie) plays an extraordinary influence in his life.
