General Wang Liangjun

The revolutionary historical film "General Wang Liang" tells the legendary growth story of Wang Liang (1905-1932), a famous general from Qijiang, Chongqing, during the early years of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army, focusing on his revolutionary military career from 1927 to 1932. In early August 1927, Wang Liang, Luo Ruiqing, and others originally planned to participate in the Nanchang Uprising, but they were impeded and detained by a treacherous warlord while passing through Jiujiang. After successfully escaping, with the help of fellow countrymen Liu Sihai and Yang Chunfa from Qijiang, Wang Liang made his way to Xiushui and joined the Autumn Harvest Uprising forces, initially showcasing his military command skills during the attack on Jinping. On the way to retreat to Wenjiashi, Wang Liang met Comrade Mao Zedong and, from then on, firmly followed him, together entering the revolutionary base of Jinggangshan. Wang Liang led the Red Army and Red Guards, skillfully using guerrilla tactics to defeat larger enemy forces, achieving victory in the Battle of Huangyangjie, and was appointed as the commander of the first battalion of the 28th Red Army. When the Red Army attacked Changting, Wang Liang's unit fiercely battled against Guo Fengming's troops and emerged victorious, leading to his promotion as the commander of the 10th Red Army Division. During the first "counter-encirclement and suppression" campaign, he captured Zhang Huizan alive and seized the enemy's radio station. After the establishment of the Central Government of the Soviet of China, Wang Liang was promoted to commander of the 4th Red Army, participating in the battle of Zhangzhou alongside Luo Ruiqing and Su Yu, achieving a victory that made him a well-known military commander of the early Red Army. Tragically, in June 1932, while returning to the central Soviet area of southern Jiangxi, Wang Liang heroically sacrificed his life at the age of only 27.
