Senior Inspector He Shangsheng (played by Liu Qingyun) is taken hostage by the robber Yi Jian (played by Zheng Yijian), who calls him to the crime scene for negotiations. Seeing Yi Jian's arrogance at the scene, He Shangsheng is determined to capture him, but Yi Jian manages to escape. This setback ignites He Shangsheng's fighting spirit and curiosity, prompting him to play a 'ransom game' with Yi Jian.He Shangsheng receives several remnants of the artwork sent by Yi Jian. With the help of Interpol officer Ruby (played by Huang Zhuoling), he discovers that the damaged artworks are all insured by the same international insurance company. He suspects that Yi Jian intends to extort the insurance company and decides to investigate. At this moment, Yi Jian happens to call the company's executive Teresa (played by Lin Xilai) to demand ten million. He Shangsheng immediately takes over the case, only to find that the situation is far more complicated than he expected.
