Zhu Cheng, a native of Fanshan, Cangnan County, Wenzhou, enlisted in the army in 1928 and entered the sixth class of the Huangpu Military Academy. In 1934, he traveled to Japan to study at the Tokyo Railroad Institute. During this time, he actively participated in patriotic movements among Chinese students abroad. After returning to China, he was introduced to the Communist Party by Comrade Zhu De and held important positions such as commander of the fifth district of the Jiluhyu Military Region and commander of the first brigade of the North China People's Army. Throughout his life, he fought in countless battles, and on September 28, 1943, he bravely sacrificed himself during the anti-'sweep' operation in the southeast region of Cao County, Shandong, at the young age of 33. General Yang Dezhis inscribed him as a 'talented general of the Iron Army.' The film documents Zhu Cheng's leadership of the anti-Japanese militia in North China from his return from Japan until his sacrifice for the country, highlighting his heroic deeds of outsmarting and outmaneuvering the enemy in harsh combat conditions, leading the militia to fight valiantly.
